Policy Priorities
John Lowndes is running to bring practical, people-first leadership to Tallahassee. His priorities are shaped by a decade of hands-on experience solving problems in his local community, not political talking points. Here's what he's fighting for:
Lowering Costs for Central Florida Families
The cost of everyday goods like gas and groceries, housing, insurance, utilities, and healthcare is heading in the wrong direction, and Tallahassee isn't doing anything about it. John will work to crack down on corruption and stop special-interest giveaways in Tallahassee. He will lower the cost of housing, healthcare, and everyday expenses, protect working families and seniors from footing the bill for big corporate profits, and bring a more balanced, practical approach to how state budget dollars are spent.
Fixing Florida's Property Insurance Crisis
Property insurance has become unaffordable for too many homeowners while insurance corporations walk away with massive profits. John will work to hold insurance companies accountable. He will increase transparency in how rates are set, champion reforms that reduce premiums and stop unpredictable spikes, and protect homeowners from losing their homes to rising costs.
Protecting Seminole County's Rural Boundary
Tallahassee politicians have put a development bullseye on Seminole County. John will work to protect Seminole County’s rural boundary from state-driven overdevelopment. He will preserve natural and public lands and regional water resources, support responsible growth that doesn’t sacrifice what makes our community special, and keep the eastern part of the county rural.
Strengthening Public Education
Every child deserves a safe school with the resources to thrive. John will work to stop tax dollars from being diverted to unaccountable, corporate-run schools. He will bring funding back to public schools, ensure students, parents, and teachers have what they need to succeed, raise teacher pay, and support a high-quality public education for every Central Florida family.
Protecting Local Communities
Decisions should be made as close to the people as possible. John will work to fight state efforts that attack our local freedom. He will empower cities and counties to address their own community needs and restore local control over land use and growth decisions.
